Champions of the Name

"A substitute for religion" that’s how William F. Buckley perceived public and private Academia’s embrace of multiculturalism. "Although there are secondary schools that attempt to keep Christianity prominently in sight, this much is absolutely plain: there is today another God, and it is multiculturalism. [ . . . ] A vital feature in the new religious order is the institutionalization of the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., in some schools the most prominent feast in the calendar. [ . . . ] Every student is familiar with the phrase "I have a dream." Not many are familiar with the closing words of his peroration: ' . . . and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.'"

Thank you William Buckley. You say what many Americans dare not say. In fact, they dare not notice. Most Americans these days don’t want to be against anything. They’re as flimsy as a reed trembling in the wind. They never met a man like Elijah. Not even Martin Luther King Jr. matched Elijah’s fire of resolve. Elijah stood before God. What could men do to him?

These days, most Americans either give into fatalism "we’re going down the drain and I’m glad we are" or they give into bitterness "This country is going in the wrong direction, and it's all their fault.” Can we blame the two streams? No. They are both a direct result of a post-Christian generation schooled by enslaved professors who are punished for mentioning the name of Jesus Christ in a worshipful manner. There is no quick and easy fix. How does one stop a gushing well polluting the youth of America? BP can’t fix a visible polluting well. How can America stop an invisible one? It will not be done with Stephen Hawking’s mind. It will not be done with Schwarzenegger’s brawn. It will not be done with Warren Buffett’s wallet. It will only be done by the Spirit of the Lord, maker of heaven and earth, working in unison with human beings who walk in the fear of the Lord.

If you are that human being, be strong, and very courageous. If the Lord is with you, who can be against you? Fear not, America: one day your children will be taught by the Lord Himself.
